TRAIL REPAIRS: THANKS TO THE TRANS CANADA TRAIL FOUNDATION

After the disastrous rainstorms in July, two of our trails suffered washouts in numerous locations. Fortunately, thanks to the Trans Canada Trail Foundation, we were able to put the Lake William Wetland Trail and the Blue Hill Coach Road back in order. The TCT provided the funding needed to hire a backhoe and deliver several loads of Class A gravel into the damaged areas on the Lake William Wetland Trail as it is a registered part of the Trans Canada Trail. Blue-Green Algae and Water Quality Data Analysis Report

Blue-Green Algae, Water Monitoring / By SWEPS

The goal of the SWEPS Blue Green Algae (BGA) project is to identify the sources of the pollutants that contribute to the growth of cyanobacteria blooms. The object of our testing program is to identify high risk areas in the watershed and hopefully be able to predict when the blooms are imminent.

Blue Hill Coach Trail

Today it is a picturesque trail bordered by old growth Hemlock, Spruce and Oak trees. There are many interesting rock formations along the trail in what was once a gold mining area. Wildlife is abundant. One can often see a deer or Pheasant while walking the trail.
