Preserving our Waters

Join SWEPS in our mission to protect the Shubenacadie Watershed. We focus on water quality, habitat preservation, and engaging with our community.

Water Protection

Protecting water quality and habitats within the Shubenacadie Watershed.

Community Engagement

Engages the community through education, land-use planning, and trail development.

01.
Water Monitoring

Water monitoring is critical to SWEPS’ mission. By regularly testing water quality in the Shubenacadie Watershed, we can detect and address pollution, ensure safe drinking water, and maintain healthy habitats for local wildlife. Through community-driven efforts, we aim to protect our precious water resources for future generations.

02.
Habitat Restoration

Habitat restoration is a cornerstone of SWEPS’ work. We focus on revitalizing natural habitats in the Shubenacadie Watershed to support biodiversity and healthy ecosystems. By restoring damaged areas, replanting native vegetation, and improving water flow, we aim to create vibrant, sustainable environments for both wildlife and the community.

03.
SWEPS Trails

SWEPS is committed to creating and maintaining a network of sustainable trails within the Shubenacadie Watershed, centered around the Fall River area. These trails not only promote active transportation and outdoor recreation but also foster a deeper connection with the natural environment. By engaging the community in trail development, we aim to encourage healthy lifestyles and environmental stewardship.
